People outside my family who have remained in my memory as friends, points of reference, influences, or witnesses to different stages of my life.

Formative friendships

Some friendships from childhood and youth contributed directly to my formation. I brought them together in an essay about closeness between men and the way such bonds continue to live on in memory.

  • Friendships on a Fine Line
A reflection on friendship between men, illustrated through three bonds from my formative years.
  • Mircea – the continuity of beginnings
The friend from across the street, raised in the same neighbourhood and a lasting witness to a shared world.
  • Nicu – trust
A close friendship linked to my student years, Groapa Florii, and the support I received in difficult moments.
  • Gabi – confession
A friendship born in the army stage, between complicity, charm, confession and the memory of an unrepeatable youth.

Other important people

  • General Paul (Pavel) Teodorescu
Uncle Radu’s superior during the interwar period; an important name in the Romanian army and, at the same time, a discreet presence in family memory as Jeni’s friend.

The list will be expanded as other people and other relationships take the form of memoir pages of their own.
